First day of a 2 day Mekong Delta Tour with my private tour guide Jason. 7:30 start and then a nice drive with a lot of information to Cai Be. There we spent a lot of time on a boat on the Mekong delta. Visiting the “floating market” (like a marketplace on the river for boats! interesting idea 😉 – then the local market and a Pagoda and then a quiet boat trip away from the loud engines etc. I also had to paddle once – that wouldn’t have been necessary 🙂
Then, after a couple of beers of course, I had to “catch” my lunch (well, just grab it from the very small pond – not really “catching”) and cook it myself – nice experience but for the future I leave that cooking stuff again to people who know what they are doing 🙂
The lunch was really good and PLENTY!!! I was sooo full (which means something! Can’t think of any “tour” where I was so full afterwards!). So I relaxed in the hammock for an hour 🙂

At the end we made our way to Can Tho over an amazing bridge. The bridge is 2.75 kilometres long (1.68 miles). The bridge is currently the longest main span cable-stayed bridge in Southeast Asia. The cost of construction is estimated to be 4.842 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately 342.6 million U.S. dollars), making it the most expensive bridge in Vietnam.
Also “famous” for the collapse in 2007.
